“Each family has its problems and also its great joys,” says the Holy Father, who emphasizes that “each person is valuable because it is different from the others” and emphasizes that “each person is unique.”
However, it states that “differences can also cause painful conflicts and wounds” and that “the best medicine to cure the pain of a injured family is forgiveness.”
In this sense, he emphasizes that “forgiving means giving another possibility” and recalls that “God does that with us all the time.”
“God’s patience is infinite: He forgives us, lifts us, makes us start over. Forgiveness always renews the family, makes you look forward to hope, ”adds the pontiff.
“Even when the ‘happy ending’ is not possible,” the Pontiff continues, “that we wanted, the grace of God gives us strength to forgive and brings peace, because it frees the sadness and, above all, from resentment.
“Let’s pray for divided families to find in forgiveness the healing of their wounds, rediscovering, even in their differences, the riches of each one,” concludes the Holy Father.
