Pope Francis called for global justice and equality in healthcare, in his message addressed to the participants of the conference organized by the World Medical Association together with the Pontifical Academy for Life.
The Holy Father highlighted the importance of this congress, held under the title “The Declaration of Helsinki: Research in low-resource settings,” and specified that the Declaration, since its initial version in 1964, “has offered an essential contribution.”
“We well know how significant this change has been for the practice of medicine to the foster a new harmony in the relationship between doctor and patient,” he noted.
