The Holy Father landed on the morning of this Friday, June 14, in Borgo Egnazia to participate in this relevant event that brings together leaders from the 7 most advanced economies worldwide.

This year, the members of the G7 will discuss topics such as migration, the situation in the Middle East, Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, economic security and artificial intelligence.
Upon his arrival, Pope Francis was received by the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, who accompanied him to the residence reserved for the different colloquiums.
The first to meet with the Pontiff was Kristalina Georgieva, General Director of the International Monetary Fund.
Next, Pope Francis held a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

It should be noted that both They met in the Vatican in February 2020, two years before the war that devastated the country broke out and that the Holy Father has repeatedly denounced.
Later, the bilateral meeting took place with Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic. The last time they met in the Vatican was in October 2022.
Before participating in the Joint Session of the summit, where he gave a speech on artificial intelligence, the Pontiff last met with Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada. It should be remembered that both met in July 2022 in Quebec, capital of the country, during the Apostolic Journey of the Holy Father.
