The Marian image was wearing a beautiful bluish dress, in contrast to the usual one, which was donated by the Maison Container Zerozero by Filippo Sarcinelli. The event was accompanied by the local Roma Capitale police band.
In this area of the Eternal City, the Virgen del Carmen or Santa María del Monte Carmelo, as this Marian devotion is also known whose feast day is on July 16, is celebrated a few days before, on the 13th, and the celebrations with prayers, processions and various celebrations they extend until July 29.

Who is the Virgin of Carmen?
The Virgin of Mount Carmel, also known as Our Lady of Mount Carmel or Saint Mary of Mount Carmel, is one of the best-known Marian devotions.
On July 16, 1251, Saint Simon Stock, superior of the Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, prayed to God asking for strength for his Carmelite brothers who were suffering persecution.
At that moment the Virgin Mary appeared to him and gave him the famous Carmelite scapular, promising that she would save whoever wore it from hell.
This happened in Aylesford (England) and marked the beginning of the devotion to the “Queen and Lady of Mount Carmel”, which has spread throughout the world.
