The Diocese of Chiclayo – it continues – has a “listening center” and the three women were able to talk with professionals. After three weeks, they presented their complaints to the Prosecutor’s Office.
“Later that same year the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office was to archive the case due to statute of limitations and lack of evidence. The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, seeing that the accusations presented against the accused priest have not been sufficiently proven, consequently decided to archive the case. for now“said the priest.
In recent weeks, given the publication of the complaints in different media, the Apostolic Administrator of Chiclayo “has wanted to reopen the case for greater clarity of the facts,” explains the official statement.
In relation to the actions adopted by the diocese, Father Purisaca details that “precautionary measures” have been implemented that include the residence of the accused father in his family home, with the restriction of not exercising priestly ministry.
