The long weekend of Carnival 2024 arrives, with the Holidays of Monday, February 12 and Tuesday, February 13and the destinations of Argentina are betting on an important tourist flow.
Those who do not plan to travel these days usually look for alternatives nearby walkson the day, for go out with the boys.
Here are some proposals – with paid or free entry – to take into account for a getaway this weekend or any other during the year.
Campanópolis, González Catan
She defines herself as “the unique village with eclectic style in South America”. It is in González Catán, province of Buenos Aires, 45 minutes from Capital and stands out because it recreates the medieval architecture.
The village, on a 208-hectare property, has several stone and wood buildings, joined together by cobblestone streetspassages and different nooks, as well as a Dutch windmill, a locomotive with carriages and a colonial chapel, among other attractions.
Campanópolis will open during the long Carnival weekend (except Tuesday the 13th, which will be closed): Saturday, Sunday and holiday Monday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Accessed with guided tours and with admission ticket purchased online. Visitors can spend 4 hours on the premises (the guided tour lasts 1.15 hours), where in addition to taking photos, they can visit the souvenir shop, have picnics – you can bring food – or buy something to eat at the market (sandwiches , hot dogs, empanadas, pizzas, wraps, cakes, etc.)
Temaikén Biopark, Escobar
On the long Carnival weekend, Temaikén renews its proposal with experiences for the whole family.
Upon arrival, visitors will receive a map with challenges to solve and discover secrets of the flora and fauna of Argentina and the world.
There are augmented reality games and immersive activities to become, for a while, veterinarians -and rescue emblematic species- or explorers who dive into the jungle in search of the yaguareté.

- How much does it cost. General admission for Argentines costs 23,477, online it is 16,434 pesos. For children from 3 to 10 years old, 13,969 pesos. There are 2×1 with Clarín365, MercadoPago, PersonalPay, among others, but it must be taken into account that it applies to the ticket office rate.
Japanese Garden, City of Buenos Aires
With a bonsai talk, a Japanese Drum show for the carnivals and participatory origami demonstrations for Valentine’s Day, the Japanese Garden is preparing for the long Carnival weekend.
Saturday 10/2 at 4pm. Introduction to the Art of Bonsai: talk with an exhibition of specimens, essential elements of cultivation and much more.
Sunday 11/2 at 4 and 5 p.m. (on the Big Island stage). “Eisa” Japanese Drum Shows by Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko, a group dedicated to Okinawan folk dances.
Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th February from 2pm. Celebration of Valentine’s Day with participatory Origami workshops (limited spaces, first come, first served).

EUCA Tiger
Hanging bridgeshigh altitude challenges and zip lines: EUCA offers a good time outdoors full of adventure and adrenaline.
In Carnival it opens Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, from 4 to 10 p.m. The last ticket is sold at 8 p.m. It is estimated that the game lasts 3 hours, while the EUCA Mini is one hour.
- How much does it cost. General pass, 16,900 pesos per person; EUCA Mini (boys from 1 meter to 1.25), 10,900 pesos. Vertigo Tower, 4,500 pesos. Only the one who plays pays. There is a bar with tables where companions can stay and have a drink or eat something (tienda.eucatigre.com).
Historic Tramway, City of Buenos Aires
A tram ride? A fun trip to the past? In addition to its traditional weekend hours (Saturdays, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.), this weekend the Carnival on board.

The tram celebrates it on Sunday 11/2 in the afternoon and on Monday 12 at the same time, from 5 to 8 p.m., with the PM2 “Lagarto” and dressing up!!!!
There will be normal service on Saturday the 10th, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Sunday 11/2 and Monday 12/2 in the afternoon, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the PM2 “Lagarto” -private vehicle of the historical fleet- The slogan is “Come in disguise” to share the “tramway”
Las departures are every 25 minutes from the only stop on the line, at Emilio Miter and José Bonifacio, in Caballito. The journey is 2 kilometers and takes about 15 to 20 minutes. It is suspended due to rain.
On Tuesday 2/13 there will be no service.
