“Operation Conclave”It is the name of a new Internet initiative that seeks to publicize and promote prayer for each of the 133 cardinals that, until now, will choose the successor of Pope Francis.
This project has been carried out by four Catholic friends: Carlos Garibay, Pablo Guízar and Rogelio Huerta, from Jalisco; and Francisco Anaya Rodríguez, from Washington DC the idea of the platform arose during a conversation by WhatsApp, realizing that they knew little about the cardinals who will participate in the conclave from May 7.

“We knew very little about the cardinals and wanted to know them better, while praying for each one in a particular way. And help others do the same,” Anaya explained in a conversation with ACI Press.
“Despite professional and family commitments, we connect at night and early hours – on April 29 to May 1 – to launch this Spanish version. Very soon it will also be available in English,” he says.
Upon entering the website, you just have to click “Start” so that, randomly, the image of one of the 133 voters, accompanied by a brief biography and a sentence dedicated to it and the next conclave. By pressing “Continue”, you access the following cardinal, thus allowing to know and entrust each to complete the list.
To ensure that the information is correct, the creators of “Operation Conclave” used as a source the official Vatican website.
The prayer for each of the cardinals says: “Illuminate, Lord, with your wisdom to the cardinal (name) and all the voters of the conclave, so that guided by the Holy Spirit they choose the new successor of Peter, Pastor according to your heart, for glory of yours and good of your whole church. Amen.”
The website also indicates that “the conclave is a time to listen to the Holy Spirit. Cardinals voters need our pleas so that, free of all division, they are guided towards the will of God. Our prayers are key for this to happen.”
