Open Sky in Mexico seeks to encourage going out to meet others

This Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29, the National Auditorium in Mexico City will once again host the “Cielo Abierto” concert, a worship event that not only invites prayer, but also to “go out to meet others,” according to expressed the Catholic singer Fran Correa, one of the artists of the event.

Fran Correa, originally from Santiago, Chile, was part of the renowned Catholic music ministry “Alfareros”, with whom she won the Latin Grammy in the category of “Best Christian Album in Spanish.”

In an interview with ACI Prensa, Correa indicated that since 2023 she has been part of the Cielo Abierto project and since then she has felt that “it has been a hug, she has been welcomed, it has been family, it has been music, it has been laughter, that’s really what it is.” For me that is the encounter with God.” “Really, Open Sky has been beautiful for me,” she added.

The artist highlighted the power of music to “unite hearts” and “bring people closer to God”: “Through music, many people feel that the Lord accompanies them, embraces them. Many times, music does that, it gives hope” to those who need it most.

The concert will feature the participation of several international Catholic artists, including Fran Correa herself; Darwin Lechler, from the United States; the Itala and Juanjo couple, from Peru and Paraguay; a surprise guest; and from Mexico, Chavo Guerrero along with the couple Pedro and Cristal, who lead the Cielo Abierto mission.

With more than 14 years of continuous apostolate, “Cielo Abierto” has visited various cities in Mexico, Latin America and the United States, performing more than 240 Eucharistic adoration concerts in renowned venues.

In preparation for the main event at the National Auditorium, Eucharistic adorations were held in 15 temples in Mexico City from September 17 to 23.

Correa expressed his hope that those attending “Cielo Abierto” can feel “very loved by God, that they feel embraced by God, that they truly believe in that love in their hearts.”

In addition, he encouraged that this experience not only remain in the concert: “all of us who are there, let us not only stay with the music, with the beauty of the moment, with the prayer of the day, but invite us to go out to meet from another, because if it only remains there, it has no meaning.”

Fran Correa called on attendees not to limit their relationship with God, but to “accompany others, to go out to meet those who suffer, those who are by my side, my family.”
