On a day like today, March 11, 1958, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 21 years old and after a time in the diocesan seminary of Villa Devoto (Buenos Aires), entered the novitiate of the Society of Jesus.
He then moved to Chile to complete his humanities studies, and returned to Argentina in 1963, where he graduated in philosophy at Colegio San José, in San Miguel.
Between 1964 and 1965 he worked as a professor of literature and psychology at the Colegio de la Inmaculada, in Santa Fe, and later he would do the same at the Colegio del Salvador, in Buenos Aires, in 1966.
