The Sister Paésie, whose given name is Claire Joelle Phillipe, is a French missionary nun, founder of the Kizito Family Associationwho spoke with EWTN News about the situation “of extreme violence” that Haiti is going through, in addition to his humanitarian and evangelizing work with the most vulnerable children in the country.
The Kizito Family Association provides material and spiritual support to charitable works dedicated especially to children living on the streets and prisoners. The organization includes consecrated nuns, priests and lay people dedicated to serving the most vulnerable in the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince.
Last weekend (March 1-3), armed members of criminal gangs invaded the country’s two largest prisons, freeing inmates and unleashing an explosion of violence that forced authorities to declare a nighttime curfew and the state of emergency.
