The great Saint Philip Neri was born in Italy in the year 1515. He is the patron saint of educators and humorists, as well as the founder of the Oratory in Rome. He is known for having the gift of healing, prophecy and because he could read thoughts.
Father Felipe used to organize spiritual conversations with children and young people, which ended with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. These meetings began to become known among the people, who began to call the attendees “Oratorians,” since Saint Philip called them by ringing the bell to pray in his oratory.
