The act was inaugurated by Mons. Efraín Hernández, Canon of the Basilica, who stressed that this jubilee was intended to reaffirm, through music, that religions have “the gift and the task of bringing hope”, which, he warned, “nobody has the right to remove, threaten or manipulate his will”.

“On the contrary, everyone must protect the gift of human life. In the name of God, which has created all human beings equal in rights, duties and dignity, has called us to live as brothers,” said Mons. Efraín Hernández.
The priest invited the representatives of other religions and those present to be “ferment of authentic hope for the world, so in need, justice, peace and harmony, and also of the realization of God’s promises.”
Throughout the afternoon, the enclosure became a scenario of spiritual diversity. The Musical Festival gathered artistic and religious expressions of multiple creeds.
The musical moment included the Derviches ceremony (a dance-meditation), performed by the Sufi Nur Ashki Yerráhi order, a community of Islam. The Choir of Infants of the Basilica of Guadalupe also participated.
Later, the atmosphere was enlivened by singers of the Anglican Church and an interpreter of the Jewish community Bet El, who sang songs in Hebrew. The Ministry of Praise of the Evangelizo Mission church raised its voices, while the Hare Krishna shared their dances and devotional songs.
Rabbi emeritus Marcelo Ritner also took the floor and expressed his desire to live in harmony. He indicated that on a person of faith he must “live looking for his own faith, the way to approach and receive the light and receive the blessing.”
The Mons. Javier Acero Festival, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Mexico, who explained that an event of this type, through music is a way in which it is possible “how we can achieve peace”.
The bishop called for unity, pointing out that “only united is how we can get peace in our hearts, peace in families, peace in our country.”
