The Bishop of Salt Lake City in the state of Utah (United States), Mons. Oscar Solís, lamented the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and asked that the government “adopt the appropriate measures to end these horrible crimes.”
Charlie Kirk, married and father of two children, was killed on September 10 at a university event in Utah, when a stranger shot him in the neck.

“My heart is with Charlie Kirk’s family, who today (yesterday) has been shot dead at Utah Valley University. I will pray for the rest of her soul,” said Mons. Solís in a declaration.
“I also pray for all those affected, especially for those who were present at the event on the campus, the many people who admired Mr. Kirk and, above all, his family,” said the prelate.
Meanwhile, “I still pray for all victims of armed violence over the years and their families. It is frightening that acts of meaningless violence like this continue to occur.”
To conclude, the bishop said that “it seems that our society has lost the sense of the holiness of life, and I pray for our government to adopt the appropriate measures to end these horrible crimes.”
