“Mothers show us, they reveal to us something of the tenderness of God,” said the Archbishop of San Juan de Cuyo, when Mother’s Day was celebrated this Sunday, October 19, in Argentina.
“In the Bible, many times, mothers are spoken of to tell us about God, as an image that helps us capture a part of the mystery of what the love of God implies,” states the prelate in his video message titled To the dear mothers.

“One of the Psalms, 130, tells us about the yearnings, the desires of the heart and to put an image” it talks about “a child in the arms of his mother, showing us that in this child in the arms of the mother, the entire universe is resolved, because everything he has around him is tenderness, it is trust, it is security,” he continues.
“Mothers show us, they reveal to us something of the tenderness of God,” highlights the Argentine archbishop.
A message of encouragement and gratitude to mothers
“Today we celebrate her day, Mother’s Day, and I want to reach out to you who are a mother and who fight every day, who have difficulties, who often face life alone, who suffer the pain of a child who is addicted or with paths that you see are not doing him good,” says the prelate.
“Feel supported and valued by the church, by the community, especially by God. He loves you, knows what is in your heart and wants to send you words of encouragement and joy for this day.”
Mons. Lozano also gave thanks “to the mother who caresses, who kisses the forehead, who heals a wound, we learn how to treat our frailties. We learn how to God we are all valuable, we all have importance in his heart, like children in the heart of the mother.”
To conclude, the archbishop said that “we then pray for all mothers and ask God to bless them with great abundance and we express our affection.”
