Monuments of Buenos Aires and the world look tributes to Pope Francis

The president of the Nation, Javier Milei, already confirmed his presence at the funeral of the Holy Father, which will be this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Plaza de San Pedro, prior to the transfer of his remains to the Basilica of Santa María la Mayor, a few meters from the Argentine embassy, ​​where by express request of the Pontiff, his grave will be simple and with a single legend: “Franciscus”.

Meanwhile, in the atriums of the temples of Buenos Aires, flowers, rosaries, letters, and soccer shirts with the colors of San Lorenzo, the club of the loves of Pope Francis are accumulated, while rising prayers and candles are lit in his name.

On Monday night the city center, the lights of his mythical Obelisk also lit, to project an image with the face of Pope Francis, a black bow and one of his most remembered phrases: “Rehend for me.”

In other parts of the city, such as the city’s planetarium and the Spanish monument, the lights with the colors of the papal flag in homage to the Holy Father, a gesture that was repeated around the world.

In New York (United States) the emblematic Empire State building also wore the yellow and white colors in memory of the Pontiff.

In the case of the Eiffel Tower, in Paris (France), in respect, the lights went out before their usual schedule. This Monday, in addition, the bells of the Notre Dame Cathedral repressed 88 times, one for every year of the Argentine Pope.

Also in France, more precisely in Marseille, the lights of three significant monuments were turned off: the City Council, the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde and the Pharo Palace.
