Pope Francis announced this Saturday, June 8, the appointment of two new bishops in the dioceses of Piedras Negras and Tacámbaro, suffragans of the archdioceses of Monterrey and Morelia, respectively.

In the Diocese of Piedras Negras, the Holy Father accepted the resignation of Bishop Alonso Gerardo Garza Treviño at the age of 75, as happens with all bishops when they reach that age. In his place, the pastor will be Mons. Alfonso Gerardo Miranda Guardiola, who until now served as Auxiliary Bishop of Monterrey.
