When inaugurating the International Congress of Families, its president, Jesús Manzanares, urged young people to “join the hope of a promising future through strengthening the family nucleus.” Meanwhile, Brian Brown, president of the World Congress of Families, called for building “a society of hope and love for peace.”
Prominent personalities such as Cardinal José Francisco Robles Ortega, Archbishop of Guadalajara, and Alejandro Landero, president of the Teletón Foundation in Mexico and the United States, also shared their reflections.
The Mexican cardinal lamented the loss of “quality and warmth” in current family networks, but highlighted the capacity that families have “to mend the family network.”
