The bishops of Mexico announced the priority pastoral lines that will guide their work in 2024, highlighting challenges such as accompaniment to the life that is born, care for migrants and vocational promotion.
In a message issued on January 1, the Conference of the Mexican Episcopate (CEM), recognized that the country faces challenges that “pain and worry us” such as “violence, corruption, inequalities, political polarization, unemployment “So many families who cannot get ahead.”
However, the prelates urged the parishioners not to give in to “sterile pessimism or destructive fatalisms,” which is why they called on Mexican Catholics to be “’gentle light’ of hope.”
