On the eve of the start of the electoral process in Mexico, the country’s bishops called on contemplative communities throughout the country to “begin an uninterrupted time of prayer,” in order to implore God “to guide and assist us.” .
With an electoral campaign that runs from March 1 to May 29, 2024, citizens are preparing to elect on June 2 the next president – who will succeed Andrés Manuel López Obrador -, the new members of the Congress of the Union, as well as state governors and mayors.
In this context, the Conference of the Mexican Episcopate (CEM), shared a message urging the members of these religious communities to begin a time of prayer with the intention that “the Lord grant us that this electoral process be carried out in peace and transparency.”
