Mexico: Archbishop accuses Ciudad de los Ninos of profiting from faith and offering false sacraments

In his statement, Bishop Díaz Martínez indicated that the Children’s City “once” was “dedicated to doing good and carrying out the mandate of the Lord Jesus,” but he denounced that “currently, agreements are made on this property, from those who manage the place, with some pseudo-religious group or groups (…) in order to offer ‘packages of false sacraments of first communions, confirmations and marriages with false documentation and excessive charges.'”

The Archbishop of Tulancingo pointed out that “we (the Catholic Church) distance ourselves from what is undertaken or carried out there.”

Bishop Díaz Domínguez also urged the population to “not be surprised or deceived,” and invited Catholics to “spread the word in order to avoid being scammed by such pseudo-religious groups in complicity with those who administer said place.”
