The Medjugorje Center Foundation (FCM) announced the holding, for the first time in Spain, of the Ibero-American Congress of the Queen of Peace, from February 5 to 9, 2025.
In a note published in his websitethe FCM specifies that this congress, number 15, will be held at the San José de El Escorial Spirituality House, in Madrid, and has as its motto “Pilgrims of hope at the hand of Mary Queen of Peace.”

It will be a pilgrimage experience, “where we are welcomed, we feel at home and we live the spiritual experience of Medjugorje as brothers, as children of the Gospa,” the organizers point out in reference to the Virgin Mary in her invocation of Queen of Peace.
The note also indicates that among the collaborators of the event are the Mir Medjugorje Information Center, the St. James the Apostle parish and Mons. Aldo Cavalli, apostolic visitor for the Medjugorje parish, who has encouraged the faithful to visit Medjugorje because “it is a place of grace.”
The film director Juan Manuel Cotelo, who has directed films such as The last summit, Land of Mary y The greatest giftamong others, and the Spanish writer María Vallejo-Nágera, author of numerous books on spirituality such as From Mary to Mary y Between heaven and earth.
Also attending the event will be Brother Zvonimir Pavičić, parish priest of Medjugorje; Fra Danko Perutina, president of the Mir Medjugorje Information Center and founder of the FCM; Father Inocencio Llamas, priest advisor of the FCM for Latin America and preacher of the spirituality of Medjugorje in the world; Father Agustín Giménez, professor at the University of San Dámaso in Madrid and spiritual advisor of the FCM in Spain.
Other participants are Diego González, from the Messengers of Peace Evangelizing Community in Argentina; Fr. Jorge Ranninger LC, director of the Everest school in Madrid and promoter of the apostolate of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; and Vedran Vidović, director of the Mir Medjugorje Information Center.
Mons. Juan Antonio Reig Pla, Bishop Emeritus of Alcalá de Henares (Spain), will preside over the final Mass of the congress.
The registration cost is 395 euros (about 406 US dollars) and in order to participate, the organizers indicate, “it is essential” to fill out the pre-registration form, which can be accessed at this link.
The Vatican and Medjugorje
In May 2024, the Vatican published new regulations for the study of apparitions in the Catholic Church.
These new guidelines serve to facilitate the devotion of the faithful in the places of alleged apparitions “without committing the Holy See to a declaration of supernaturality.”
In this sense, in September 2024, the Vatican approved the spiritual experience linked to Medjugorje and issued a positive judgment on the “supposed messages” that visionaries receive from the Mother of God, with the publication of the document Queen of Peaceconfirming the nothing stands in the way (nothing prevents) and authorizing the faithful to adhere to this devotion.
