Italian Tuscany will be the scene this weekend of the 23rd edition of the Argentario Nautical Week, a traditional regatta that attracts sailing fans and spectators from all over the world and will feature an Argentine boat. It will be the Matrerowho ten days ago finished second in the famous international regatta The Sails of Antibes in the French seaside resort of the Côte d’Azur and will run between this Thursday and Sunday in the event that will start from Porto Santo Stefanolocated on the peninsula of Monte Argentario.
The sailboat, built in 1970 by the designer German Frerswith a very innovative design for that time, and owned by the businessman Rafael Pereira Aragonwill sail through the crystalline Mediterranean waters competing against fifty classic high-performance boats from a dozen countries.
The competition – organized by the Yacht Club Santo Stefano with the support of the Municipality of Monte Argentario – is open to professional and amateur sailors, and often includes a varied range of types of sailboats, from classic yachts to modern racing boats, competing in various classes and categories.
The Matrero team, which will seek to repeat the good performances achieved in different maritime sailing tournaments, is made up of Sebastian Cordoba, Felipe Varela, Diego Weppler, Gustavo Fernandez, Alejandro Chometowski, Martín y Eduardo Zimmerman, Felix Fernandez Madero, Tomás Peuvrel, Martín Busch y Pereira Aragon.
Porto Santo Stefano It is a curious and beautiful city located next to a rocky promontory.
