The saint narrated that he reverently took a white ribbon from the Virgin’s hand, on which the word “obedience” was written. Don Bosco immediately began to tie the heads of some collaborators with the cloth and they began to stay with him. “This is how the Salesian Society was established,” the saint emphasized.
Don Bosco also indicated that he saw many other things that would come in the future, including difficulties. But he also saw houses, schools, churches, courtyards, clerics and priests.
The Salesians began with 18 people, including the saint, and at the death of Don Bosco (1888) there were 768.
