Mark Wahlberg: No one is beyond redemption this Lent

Catholic actor Mark Wahlberg shared a message of hope when starting Lent, highlighting the importance of conversion: “No one is beyond redemption. God knows the heart of each person and, if someone is sincere and wishes to amend and change their life, they can do it. ”

At the beginning of this liturgical time, Wahlberg said that anyone can “do more and be better” and that “we all have things to regret,” he said in a Interview with Fox News.

“Many times it is said that people do not change, but they are very capable of doing so. They are capable of doing extraordinary things, but they need guides and examples to follow. ”

In conversation with Benjamin Hall, Fox News war correspondent who lost both legs while reporting in Ukraine, Wahlberg spoke about his own life, the difficulties and suffering he has faced. He assured that there is only a real remedy for this:

“I had a very difficult childhood and, to this day, I continue to fight with impatience, lack of understanding and the tendency to be not very reflective with others. It is easy to get caught in daily concerns, but there was only a perfect person who walked on this earth, and it was Jesus. All others should strive to be more aware of it. ”

For the actor, although tragedies and suffering are inevitable, life takes on a different meaning with Christ, who shows the way through the cross. “There will be suffering, losses and failures, but the only way to face those situations with gratitude and appreciation is to have a relationship with God. There is always someone who faces greater difficulties, and each person has a purpose in this life, ”he reflected.
