The person in charge of starting the “world lifted” of Andas was the archbishop of Lima and Primado del Peru, Cardinal Carlos Castillo, who a couple of days ago had to be hospitalized in Iquitos, jungle of Peru, for a “decompensation”, but which was seen this Saturday quite recovered.

The Lord of Miracles, also called Christ of Pachacamilla, Christ Purple or Christ Moreno is an image of Jesus painted on an adobe wall that is preserved in the sanctuary of the Nazarenes in Lima.
The miraculous image has endured the onslaught of several earthquakes, so its veneration has grown more and more since the seventeenth century, becoming a distinctive of Peruvians worldwide, also in Rome, where every October reaches the Plaza de San Pedro in the Vatican.
