“It is not to agree on what has to be done regarding liturgical music but to have a kind of radiography regarding the way it is being applied to the light of the Second Vatican Council,” he said in an interview with Ewtn News this week.
Burgos highlighted the importance of the application of teaching documents in different environments such as parishes and great celebrations.
Among the speakers are Fr. Carlos López, director of the Child Choir of Huancavelica in the Peruvian Andes; Marco Rivas, a specialist with studies at the Pontifical Institute of Sacra Music; Fr. Job Prieto, a graduate in Sagrada Liturgy; and Iván Zignaigo, organist and restorative of key instruments, with experience in cultural administration.
Burgos also declared Ewtn News that “there are a number of practices that are not consistent with what the Second Vatican Council proposed and arranged.” Therefore, he explained that his intention, as well as that of the entire team behind the pastoral Of liturgical song, it is to analyze what is happening and why.
