Leo XIV will open the Burgus Laudato if ‘, space inspired by the encyclical published in 2015 by Pope Francis, on September 5 in Castel Gandolfo: a space dedicated to the care of creation that will be open to the public.
In the place that has been the summer of the potatoes for centuries, the initiative of Pope Francis has been hosting to show “how the care of creation and respect for human dignity can become concrete and harmonic according to the principles of faith, through training, work and collaboration”, according to a statement released by the press office of the Holy See.

The space will be inaugurated in the year in which the first decade is fulfilled since the publication of the encyclical in a simple ceremony that will consist of celebrating the liturgy of the word and the rite of blessing.
As detailed in the information disseminated by the Vatican, representatives of the Roman curia and the institutions and those who have collaborated in launching the project will be present.
The singer Andrea Bocelli and his son Matteo will join the prayer with his artistic gift.
Before, Leo XIV will visit the place “touring its main spaces and meeting employees, collaborators, their families and all the people who encourage, in different ways, the life of Burgundy Laudato if ‘: religious, trainers, students, local communities, partners and benefactors”.
The Vatican presents this event as the “the fruit of a path that intertwines spirituality, education and sustainability with the objective of offering an open, accessible and inclusive place, for the formation, reflection and experience of a more conscious and respectful relationship with creation.”
Last May, a few days after the tenth anniversary of the publication of the encyclical Laudato Si ‘, Leo XIV made his first visit to the place. Subsequently, the Pontiff has spent a good part of his summer rest in Castel Gandolfo, resuming the tradition that Pope Francis interrupted.
