Pope Leo XIV appointed Father Ralph O’Donnell, from the Archdiocese of Omaha, new bishop of Jefferson City (Missuri, USA). The new prelate happens to Mons. Shawn McKnight, which in May took possession as Archbishop of Kansas City.
The elected bishop had performed his pastoral work so far as pastor of Santa Margarita María in Omaha.

Born on August 31, 1969 in OMAHA, he graduated in religious studies by the Conception Seminary College and obtained a master’s degree in theology from the University of Santa María del Lago/Seminario Mundelein. Subsequently, he obtained a master in spirituality from the University of Creighton.
Ordered priest in 1997, Mons. O’Donnell has performed various pastoral and administrative functions, including that of vocational director, Vice Chancellor of the Seminary and Executive Director of the Secretariat for the clergy, consecrated life and vocations of the United States Bishop Conference between 2015 and 2019).
