Pope Leo XIV confirmed this Sunday that he will prolong his stay in Castel Gandolfo, but did not specify when he plans to return to the Vatican.
After celebrating Mass in the Cathedral of San Pancracio Mártir, the Pontiff moved again to the Pontifical Villa of Castel Gandolfo for the prayer of the Angelus when he said: “Within a few days I will return to the Vatican, after these two weeks lived here in Castel Gandolfo.”

The Holy Father has thus expressed his desire to continue the period of rest in the historic Villa Pontificia, which appears to Lake Albano and that for centuries has served as a place of rest for the pontiffs.
