Lent 2025: Walk every day at the hand of the Virgin of Guadalupe with this podcast

The Juan Diego Network digital platform (JDN) announced for the fifth consecutive year a special challenge for Lent. This 2025 will be “Lent walking with the Virgin of Guadalupe and San Juan Diego.”

JDN’s proposal indicates that Catholics can spend the Lent day “reflecting with the Nican Mopohua”, the story that collects the appearances of Our Lady of Guadalupe to San Juan Diego, in December 1531. “Through practical challenges you will walk with your mother towards Christ rising,” says the platform.

José Manuel de Urquidi, founder of JDN, emphasizes that “this spiritual walk has deep biblical roots, from the people of Israel through the desert to the promised earth to Jesus himself, who constantly walked with his disciples forming them on the road.”

“Now that we are in Jubilee Year, we did not think of a better way to be pilgrims of hope than walking with our mother, Santa María de Guadalupe,” he said.

In each episode of the podcast, a fragment of the Nican Mopohua is read, to then make a meditation on the text, concluding with a practical challenge to apply in the day.

It is, he emphasizes Urquidi, “a spiritual experience that leads to a transformation in the life of those who listen thanks to the challenges that help live a different Lent from our mother’s hand.”

Taking as a reference point the Ninth Intercontinental Guadalupanapromoted by Pope Francis at the doors of the 500 years of the appearances of the Virgin in the Tepeyac – which will be held in 2031 -, the podcast takes as reference the messages of deep affection of San Juan Paul II by the “Morenita”, to whom considered the “first evangelizer of Latin America.”

De Urquidi said that “this podcast is not only content to listen, but it can be a community experience to live intensely the Lent from the hand of our mother and our employer, San Juan Diego.”

“We seek to respond to our missionary call to bring Christ to the existential peripheries of the Internet with small innovations like this. That is why we launch a daily challenge for fifth consecutive Lent,” he said.

“We are sure that the experience of walking from the hand of our brunette towards the risen Christ will play hearts forever,” he said.

The “Lent walking with the Virgin of Guadalupe and San Juan Diego” can be found in Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Stitcher and On the JDN website.
