In a special call during the General Audience this Wednesday, February 14 at the Vatican, Pope Francis urged Catholics around the world to join in prayer throughout Lent for those suffering the horrors of war.
“Let us make this time an occasion for conversion and interior renewal in listening to the Word of God, in caring for our brothers and sisters who need, need so much. And here let us never forget the tormented Ukraine and Palestine and Israel that suffer so much. Let us pray for these brothers and sisters who suffer from war,” Francis exhorted the faithful, according to collects Vatican News.
The Holy Father continued to invite us to “move forward” in this process of conversion, through charity, reading the Holy Scriptures and intensifying prayer, especially to achieve peace.
