Alessandra del Vecchio, one of the ceramists responsible for the workshop where she has worked for two decades, tells ACI Prensa that “30 years ago there was no alternative for children with Down syndrome and parents thought of this workshop to keep them busy. ”.
Over the years, this hobby became a “real profession”, for which artists receive a more than deserved salary. In addition, with the proceeds obtained from the sale of the objects they cover the workshop expenses.
“They are good, they have achieved advanced production techniques, so we have expanded continuing this beautiful path,” explains Alessandra without losing her smile.
