Jubileo 2025: Archbishopric of Lima evaluates that the Lord of Miracles visit the Callao

Within the framework of the celebrations for the 2025 Jubilee Year, the Archbishopric of Lima and the Diocese of Callao reported that they are evaluating the possibility that the image of the Lord of Miracles visits the main Peruvian port.

According to a statement signed by Cardinal Carlos Castillo, Archbishop of Lima, and Mons. Luis Alberto Barrera Pacheco, Bishop of Callao, various options have been raised in relation to the visits that would make the venerated image that is guarded in the sanctuary and monastery of The Nazarenes.

“Within the celebrations of the 2025 Jubilee Year, the possibility of extraordinary departures of the Lord of the Miracles of Nazarenes has been raised to visit some places in the Great Metropolitan Lima. This ‘project’ includes a possible visit to the Diocese of Callao, for which a logistical study is being done, ”says the February 2 statement.

Despite the emotion expressed by the faithful, the ecclesiastical authorities clarified that a visit from the Lord of Miracles to Callao is still under evaluation.

“We appreciate the affection and enthusiasm shown by the parishioner for a possible visit from the Lord of Miracles to Callao, but this possibility is under evaluation, as well as other invitations that other dioceses belonging to the ecclesiastical province of Lima have made,” they express In the statement.

This initiative is also coordinated with the monastery of Mothers Carmelitas Barezas of the Nazarenes. In addition, it is clarified that if approved, the visit would be carried out respecting the activities already scheduled by the Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles for October 2025, so that these are not altered.

Cardinal Castillo and Mons. Barrera have indicated that, as long as the logistics evaluation is completed and the viability is determined, the conclusion will be announced. “At the time we will transmit, after the necessary project evaluation, we will announce the feasibility and possible programming of the aforementioned,” they concluded.
