The archbishop of San Juan de Cuyo (Argentina), Mons. Jorge Eduardo Lozano, said that catechists are the ones who “help us find Jesus in our hearts as a friend.”
In a video message posted within the framework of the jubilee of the catechists and entitled “What would it be without you?”, The prelate said that the catechists “do not help us repeat formulas” unlike a parrot that does not know what he repeats, “but to be able to establish a bond of friendship with Jesus.”

The Archbishop then cited the number 29 of the document of appearance of 2007, in which the bishops of Latin America and the Caribbean point out that “knowing Jesus is the best gift that anyone can receive. Having found it is the best thing that has happened to us in life. And to make it known with our word and works is our joy.”
“What a pretty thing what happens to us when we meet Jesus! When we can enjoy his company, perceive his mercy, understand what the Scriptures say, the Bible as a message of salvation,” said Mons. Lozano.
After remembering that there are many catechists in various fields such as churches and health centers, the archbishop of San Juan de whose stressed that thanks to them “the Word of God arrives and becomes essential in their presence throughout the world.”
“We are thanks then for this beautiful vocation that Jesus gives to the Church and we re -see that in our communities many are those who want to approach the encounter with Jesus, the bread of life,” he concluded.
