On March 25, 2005, when the Holy Father asked for a cross on Good Friday to direct the 14th station of the Way of the Cross in the Roman Colosseum, one of his secretaries, the priest Mieczysław Mokrzycki, gave it to him.
The Trafalski family recognized the cross. It was the one Janina had delivered. “Mrs. Trafalska even felt unworthy of it, remembering her rebellion against suffering.”
The Polish website niedziela.pl relates that in July 2007 Fr. Mokrzycki was appointed Bishop. On September 29 of that same year he received episcopal consecration as the new Coadjutor Archbishop of Lviv in Ukraine.
