Jack Black has joined the cast of Minecraft, a live-action adaptation of the popular video game. As previously announced, Jason Momoa (Aquaman and the last of Fast and furious) stars in the film alongside Emma Myers, from Merlinand the actress The Color Purple Danielle Brooks. Production is expected to begin imminently in New Zealand.
The filmmaker of Napoleon DynamiteJared Hess, who previously worked with Black on the 2006 comedy Free nacho, will be directing the project. Warner Bros. and Legendary are behind Minecraftwhich is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 4, 2025.
