Pope Francis blessed on January 8 in El Vaticano the images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that from this Friday will tour the four provinces of Ireland; Leinster, Munster, Connaught and Ulster.
Those responsible for taking them to Rome were four priests from the country. Among them was Fr. John Mocker, who affirmed to Catholicnews.ie that “the Sacred Heart has joined us all in his love. My prayer is that the flames of the love of the Sacred Heart penetrate in our country and in the heart of each person. ”
“The Sacred Heart of Jesus has already begun to generate in his crusade. The Sacred Heart is calling everyone to be part of their love mission. Pope Francis tells us in his recent encyclical that ‘Only his love can generate a new humanity, ”said the Irish priest referring to the encyclical Loves us.
The “Crusade” will start from Ulster, with a Mass in the Cathedral of San Eunan, in Donegal County, in honor of the Sacred Heart and held by Mons. Kevin Gillespie, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Raphoe.
In addition, on February 2, a concert in honor of this devotion was held in Abbeyleix (Ireland), in which priests, bishops and faithful of the country participated. Caroline Holmes, one of the organizers of the Crusade, said in statements to local media his desire that “thank you spill over all the pilgrims of hope.”
“We hope that everyone will be welcomed to one of the four pilgrim statues of the Sacred Heart in their tour of each province,” he added.
The promoters of the initiative also expect that devotion to the Sacred Heart will be revitalized and acts as a reminder and proclamation of the promises that Santa María Margarita Alacoque revealed in 1675.
