III International Congress of Faith, Art and Myth: Tolkien, Lewis and Chesterton have a lot to say

When referring to Tolkien, a survivor of the First World War, they point out that “he had a mission to fulfill.” He was a philologist par excellence, who learned more than 20 languages, rescuing works written in a very old and difficult to decipher English. He became the most read author of the 20th century, with works crossed by epic, friendship and hope.

Lewis, for his part, lived “the path of a great pilgrim”: of Protestant origin, he became an atheist as a result of a very great pain that he was unable to overcome. However, after fighting in World War I, his search for truth and his good friends led him to believe in Christ.

From that moment, he began to write the literary and essayistic work for which he is known, highlighting in his writings the value of joy and love in the life of a Christian. His bond with Tolkien was the most important literary friendship of the 20th century.
