The Archdiocese of Miami launched a fundraising campaign for those affected by Hurricane Milton in the state of Florida (United States), which has left at least four dead.
“In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Milton on the state of Florida, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami has established a dedicated donation fund to assist those affected by the hurricane,” it notes in its social networks.

Donations can be made on the website Catholic Charities www.ccadm.org and the faithful can be assured that “one hundred percent of all funds received will be directed to providing humanitarian aid and assistance for those affected by Hurricane Milton.”
In a press conference this Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis explained that around 8:30 pm yesterday, the hurricane hit land near “Siesta Key in Sarasota County. It moved rapidly through central Florida, producing significant flooding and damage in its path. “The storm caused a lot of destruction and damage.”
DeSantis, reports APalso stated that some 80,000 people went to shelters during the storm, rescuers have been working during the night and that during this day and from now on they will be able to have a clearer idea of the damage.
According to CNN in Spanishfour people have died in St. Lucie County, Florida, following tornadoes caused by Hurricane Milton, while in Palm Beach County, several residents were rescued on Wednesday night, some of whom were trapped under debris or vehicles overturned by strong winds.
Hurricane Milton has caused more than 23 centimeters of rain to fall in a period of three hours in Tampa Bay, where the wind reached more than 160 kilometers per hour and a flood emergency was issued.
This is the third hurricane to hit Florida in 2024 and has left more than 1.1 million people in the state without power.
