Peugeot began the countdown to the launch of the new 2008, the compact SUV that is already manufactured at the El Palomar plant in Buenos Aires and will be officially presented in the first days of August.
Although there are still a few weeks left, the brand announced that the new generation of the compact SUV can now be reserved or purchased through a savings plan. Both options through its network of official dealers.
Although the brand has not provided many details about how the range will be configured and what mechanical assembly it will have, the version available through a savings plan is the base and has a value of $ 31.200.000.
This is a plan 84 months, 70/30 modality, with award agreed in installments 2,4,6 and 12, bidding for at least 30% of the Extraordinary Aliquot. The value of the first installment to subscribe is $ 241.305.
As an exclusive benefit of the pre-sale, the brand offers a bonus of 50% of the rate for 10 months for customers who award and request the vehicle in the first award.
What is the new Peugeot 2008 like?
This new generation that is manufactured in El Palomar replaces the old 2008 that came from Brazil and that was discontinued in our country at the end of last year.
It was presented in Europe in 2019 and updated last year with a redesign that modernized its figure. That last style is the one that will show off when it comes off the assembly line soon. It should also be the first model in Argentina with the brand’s new logo.
During its summer actions, Peugeot announced – although without giving details – about this new industrial launch for which investments were made. 270 million dollars (they are complemented by the US$ 320 million already invested for the implementation of the Plataforma Modular CMP) .
The new 2008 shares a platform with the 208, which has been manufactured in the same industrial complex since 2020.
The European model is 4.3 meters long and has a load capacity of 434 dm3. Compared to the 208, it is 24.5 centimeters longer, 2.5 cm wider and 10. cm higher. The main benefit is obtained in the rear seats, which are much larger.
The engines it will offer are still unknown, although it is ruled out that at first it will be exclusively gasoline. The CMP platform is “multi-energy”, that is, it is possible to equip the model that is manufactured with hybrid and electric options.
If this potential is added to Stellantis’ confirmation of developing electrified propulsion systems for the region, it is not at all unreasonable to think of an electrified 2008 made in Argentina in the not too distant future.
