Volvo, through its importer Eximar, launched the pre-sale of the EX30the Scandinavian brand’s most accessible 100% electric compact SUV.
With the arrival of this model produced in China, Volvo expands its electrified offer in the local market; currently composed of two other electric vehicles (the C40 crossover and the XC40 SUV) and the plug-in hybrids XC90, XC60 and XC40.
During this month, the brand will offer a limited batch of 20 units of the entry-level version Core E40what does it cost $49,900 and offers an approved autonomy of 405 kilometers.
While between November and December, Eximar plans to add another 80 units, with the possibility of incorporating other variants with extended range batteries (69 kWh), which allow more than 500 kilometers of autonomy.
The Volvo EX30 arrives in the country a year after having been launched worldwide in Milan, Italy. In price, it is well below the XC40 (from US$98,900) and C40 (about US$175,000), which were launched in early 2024.
Conceptually, the EX30 shows a palpable vision aimed at sustainability, since many of its components are made from recycled materials such as aluminum and plastic.
The Core E40 Single Engine version is equipped with an electric motor that delivers a power of 272 horsepower and a maximum torque of 343 Nm that allow it to reach a maximum speed of 180 km/h (limited).
The drive is powered by an LPF (lithium iron phosphate) battery, which has a capacity of 51 kWh and is recommended for use in the city, where the distances traveled between recharges are shorter.
With this battery the EX30 can travel real distances of 350 kilometers and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
The brand reports that with a fast charge it allows you to recover up to 80% of your battery in less than 30 minutes.
The Volvo EX30 Core E40 is equipped with different driving assistance systemssuch as collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and the new cyclist detection system, guaranteeing safer driving in urban environments.
It also has the Google Built-in connectivity system, which through its 12.3-inch central screen allows access to Google Maps and full integration with smartphones.
