Holywins grows in Latin America and celebrates holiness instead of Halloween

Every year, the celebration of Holywins (holy wins) spreads more in Latin America as an alternative to Halloween. This holiday proposes that children and young people dress up as their favorite saint instead of dark or scary figures, remembering that holiness can also be celebrated with joy and enthusiasm.

In Monterrey, the Santa María Reina de la Paz parish will organize a costume contest for adults on Friday, October 31 at 6:00 pm, rewarding the best.

In Jalisco, the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Primavera, Zapopan, will begin the day with a march on Saturday, November 1 at 11:00 am, followed by a contest on Sunday the 2nd at 9:00 am

Meanwhile, in Mexico City, the San Josemaría Escrivá parish in Santa Fe celebrated on October 26, inviting children to dress up as their favorite saints and experience a day full of colors, smiles and Christian joy.

Colombia

In the department of Cundinamarca, the Nuestra Señora del Rosario parish in La Calera will celebrate November 1 with the catechism children who are preparing for their First Communion.

The activity will also include a Vigil of Reparation that will begin on October 31 after the 6:00 pm Eucharist and will continue throughout the night until the 7:00 am Mass on Saturday. Later, the children will participate in Holywins activities during the morning.

The prayer and meditation application Theo will organize a virtual event on November 1 together with the musical group Talita Kum, where children will be able to participate dressed as their favorite saints in a meeting of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
