In that sense, in his spontaneous homily, Pope Francis recalled the time he heard an elderly woman say that “Jesus never tires of forgiving, it is we who tire of asking for forgiveness.”
“Today let us ask the Lord for the grace not to get tired,” the Holy Father invited. We always have small mistakes, big mistakes, each one has their own story, but the Lord always awaits us with open arms, and he never tires of forgiving.”
After the homily, the Pontiff proceeded to wash the feet of twelve inmates from various countries, such as Italy, Bulgaria, Nigeria, Ukraine, Russia, Peru, Venezuela and Bosnia, aged between 40 and 50 years.
