In his homily, Father Patton expressed the deep regret of the Church for the death of Pope Francis, encouraged hope with the resurrection of Christ and stressed that the Holy Father always asked for prayers for him.
The custodian of Tierra Santa also highlighted the constant closeness of the pontiff to the suffering and pain of the people of the Holy Land, in particular in Gaza, for which he often asked for a high fire and humanitarian aid.
Father Patton concluded his homily calling to follow the example of Pope Francis in a life of mercy and hope, and stressing that his message will remain alive in the hearts of the faithful.
