A race with cause

At a press conference, Mexico’s primed archdiocese announced that it expects the participation of at least 3,000 people. According to Fr. Álvaro Lozano, Vicar of Pastoral, this assistance will allow to raise funds to provide a decent life to more than 200 major priests who require special care and attention.

He explained that the money will be channeled through the IGMA Foundation (Church, mercy and love), a private assistance institution dedicated to providing comprehensive care to elderly priests in a vulnerable situation.

Mons. Carlos Enrique Samaniego, auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese, stressed that this race is part of the 2025 jubilee, convened by Pope Francis, and coincides with the culmination of the month of the family. Therefore, it is sought that both priests and religious and whole families can participate.

“We want to celebrate running under the gaze of the Virgin of Guadalupe, inviting the family union and to give a message of hope and faith,” said the prelate.
