The Diocese of Venice, in the state of Florida (United States), suspended a well-known priest after receiving accusations of inappropriate sexual conduct with a minor, something that occurred several years ago.
Monsignor Frank Dewane, Bishop of Venice, said in a letter to parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish, in the town of Punta Gorda, that the diocese had “received notification from a law firm regarding an allegation of sexual misconduct by the Rev. Jerome Kaywell with someone who was a minor at the time” .
The incident in question “supposedly occurred in the winter of 2013/2014,” the prelate wrote in the letter.
