The podcast “Give your body theology Macarena” is presented as a pleasant conversation between friends who intend to break the idea that theology is “something arid and distant”, showing that it is accessible to all.
With a close language and casual tone, each chapter presents a catechesis of San Juan Paul II about the theology of the body, inviting listeners to discover in their daily lives the relevance and beauty of the words of the Holy Pope, whose twentieth anniversary of death is celebrated on April 2.

A conversion between friends
From Barcelona, Álex Visús, Pedagogo, Consultant and Educational Coach, he talks with Mónica García, Public Works Engineer, Digital Marketer and a student of philosophy; And with Mariano Bartoli, Doctor of Philosophy, Bachelor of Political Science and Professor of Philosophy
at Abat Oliba University in Barcelona.
In an interview with ACI Press, Mónica García, also a producer and screenwriter of the Podcast, reveals the details of the original name chosen for this project, inspired by the famous Spanish song of “La Macarena”, known worldwide.
“The phrase includes everything: the ‘dale’ refers to the fundamental gift in the vision of San Juan Paul II; the body is the title of its theology; joy remembers that love is for joy and joy; and Macarena is the Virgin Mary, who has better lived the theology of the body,” says Garcia.
He also emphasizes that, like his teammates, he was always interested in body theology. After discerning for a while the best way to land this teaching to everyday life, it was launched, together with Visús, to this adventure and “risky project” to help listeners understand that, knowing who they are, how they are made, who has created them and for what, they can live authentic and happy relationships.
“We live in a world in which, more and more, we look for recipes that quickly solve any problem that we have, whether affective, a problem in sexuality or relationships. This is understood, because when you suffer you want a quick solution, but John Paul II invites us to travel a way to discover who we are to know how we have to act,” Garcia adds.

The teachings of San Juan Pablo II, an internal “superpower”
For the podcast production company, the teachings of the Polish Pope are like “an internal superpower” that leads to happiness. “Saint John Paul II reminds us that God reincarnated, so the body enters theology through the big door,” he details.
Then, he adds, “if you have a body, you can do theology. God is not an abstract thing, but it was embodied in a body, which is that map that God has given us to discover what love is, how to love and how to let us love.”
Mónica García reiterates that “we all have a deep desire to love and be loved.” Therefore, he invites listeners to discover “peace and happiness” offered by these teachings. For her, the “treasure” of the podcast is to reflect with each catechesis, “giving her space in our day to day, returning alone on it, so that the theology of the body becomes flesh in our life.”
The podcast arises as a result of the project Family websitedesigned by Mónica García and Álex Visús after the Covid-19 pandemic to “show the imperfect beauty of the family” through the catechesis of John Paul II.
The podcast can be heard on your channel Youtube and also in Spotify. The premiere was for the audience of Web family in autumn of 2024 and are currently publishing new episodes of the second season. The pre -production of the third season have also begun, which is expected to arrive for this spring.
Garcia concludes expressing his gratitude because the podcast “has been heard by 20 -year -old young people, but I also know that there are 60,0 65 -year -old people who have impressed them.”
