The last Argentine to enter the Top 10 in F1 was Carlos Reutemann in 1982, also with the Williams team. For this reason, today Formula 1 is once again a trend in Argentina thanks to Franco Colapinto and the expectations to travel to see it they grow day by day.
Each new Colapinto race excites fans more, but since he reached number 8, inquiries to travel to see him have skyrocketed.
For this reason, tour operators and experts in the sector observe that interest in attending the closest competition that the pilot will have has increased exponentially: the São Paulo Grand Prix, in Brazil.
The Sao Paulo GP will take place at the historic Interlagos circuit, where the final will be on Sunday, November 3, and motorsport fans are already figuring out how to go to the race.
How much does it cost

For his part, the spokesperson is Alejandro Festa, Manager of Accommodations and Tourist Services at Despegar, told Clarín: “Like all Argentines, we are very excited about Franco Colapinto, the new F1 star who has become in recent weeks a true phenomenon and the first Argentinian in 23 years”.
From Despegar, they have noticed significant customer interest in traveling to the Grand Prix in Brazil. “If we compare the last three weeks vs previous weeks, we observe a 340% increase in searches to travel to San Pablo between October 31 and November 2,” he said.
Starting this Monday, Despegar sells packages with tickets to see F1, which can be obtained through the call center 0800-800-1682.
“We want more and more Argentines to be able to travel and to do so with the best rates and the best payment options. That is why we implement quotas for international travel, which are an excellent option for those who want to visit outside the country,” he stated.
For her part, Trinidad Taboas, general manager of Lloyd Viajes y Eventos, said: “We are used to selling Formula 1 in São Paulo, also in Miami and Abu Dhabi, but interest has skyrocketed exponentially.”
And he highlighted something interesting: there is not only strong interest from individual travelers; also impacted the corporate sector.
“Incentive groups that were investigating corporate activities in the United States are now seriously considering the Interlagos option“he explained.
