According to a statement from the office of the Pontifical Commissioner of the monasteries of Belorado, Orduña and Derio, these decisions have been made after a request from the former religious for the challenge of the judge of the Court of Briviesca
The statement also specifies that “the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid had already inadmitted the lawsuit that the exciting schismatics had filed against the State Administration. In their judgment, it recognizes that the administration and legal representation of the monasteries of Belorado and Derio correspond to the commissioner Pontifical” and archbishop of Burgos, Mons. Mario Iceta.
The procedure does not affect the 5 old nuns who did not participate in the schism
The statement of the Pontifical Commissioner’s office, dated July 10, points out that “this procedure does not affect the five nuns who have not participated in the schism, and that the monastic community of Belorado is currently formed.”
“These religious, given their advanced age and delicate state of health, have been from the first moment of special concern on the part of the Pontifical Commissioner and the Management Commission,” adds the text.
“The attention and care that they need will be immediately assumed by the Federation of Clarisas Nuestra Señora de Aránzazu, to which they belong, as soon as possible to access the monastery,” the statement underlines.
The case of the excessive schismatic ones of Belorado

In addition to the penalty of excommunication, the ten former religious were expelled from consecrated life, which had to leave the monastery, but did not do so and began a legal battle to remain in it.
