This initiative organizes two prayer campaigns a year, in which volunteers and people who want to join pray in front of abortion centers to ask God for an end to this practice.
The second campaign of 2024 will begin on September 25 and will end on November 3.
In conversation with ACI Prensa, Laura Varela, spokesperson for 40 Days for Life – Ibero-America, encouraged people who “feel God’s call to do something in defense of life,” to open a prayer campaign for the end of abortion in their localities.
“Just as God calls you, he equips you. Today the battle for life is won on our knees in front of abortion centers, the more 40 Days for Life campaigns we have, the sooner abortion will be unthinkable,” he stated.
Who also encourages joining the upcoming prayer vigils for the lives of the unborn is Mons. Alejandro Díaz García, president of the Episcopal Commission for the Promotion and Defense of Life in Colombia.
In a video Published on the social networks of 40 Days for Life, Bishop Díaz García points out that Colombia “greatly needs peace, the promotion, the defense of the dignity of the human person from birth to the end of his life.”
After pointing out that life is a sacred gift from God, the Auxiliary Bishop of Bogotá assures that “prayer can do a lot for the needs of our brothers.” “Let us all unite in prayer, with devotion to the Father in Heaven through his Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit and through the hand of Mommy Mary,” he expresses in the video.
